What is a domain name?

A domain name is your website name, the address where users can access your website online.

Computers use IP addresses, which are a series of numbers. However, it is difficult to remember strings of numbers hence domain names are used for finding and identifying entities on the internet rather than using IP addresses.

A domain name can be any combination of letters and numbers, and it can be combined with various domain name extensions, such as .store, .tech, and more.

A domain name must be registered before you can use it. Each domain name is unique, meaning no two websites can have the same domain name. name.

What are nTLDs and gTLDs?

A TLD (Top-Level Domain) is the last extension of a domain name, it is the highest level in the hierarchical Domain Name System of the internet. The most well-known examples of TLDs are .com, .net, and .org. Generally, these TLDs are labeled "gTLDs", which is an acronym for Generic Top-Level Domains.

Under a new, less restrictive process, ICANN has said there is potential to create up to 1000 new TLDs per year. These new TLDs are simply called nTLDs. Many nTLDs, such as .store, .online, .tech, and more, have been created and are available today for registration through companies such as Radix.

What is .store? Who is it for?

.store is a new top-level domain (nTLD) for e-commerce by Radix. If the primary goal of your website is to sell, nothing says it better than a .store domain. Whether on a search engine listing or a print ad, users know that a website on a .store domain is a place to buy from.

What is Privacy Protect? Why do I need it?

Your privacy is of utmost importance to us, and under absolutely no circumstance would we share your information with any third party.

When you register a domain name with us, Whois lists your personal information (such as Name, Company Name, Address, Telephone Number, Email Address) as the contact details for your domain name. This information becomes available to anyone who performs a Whois lookup of your domain name.

Using the Privacy Protection service, you may immediately stop such abuse. When you enable this service for your domain name, we replace your contact details in the Whois information with our generic contact details, thus masking your contact details.

How to enable or disable Privacy Protect from the control panel?

To enable or disable Privacy Protect from the control panel, follow the steps below:

Log in to your control panel, search for the domain name and click Manage to proceed to the Domain Overview
Here you may enable or disable Privacy Protection using the toggle
Confirm and pay for your order

Do you provide hosting services?

No, we do not provide hosting services.

How do I manage my domain name(s)?

Head over to - http://manage.get.store.

With the email ID and password you used to create an account on www.get.store, login to the control panel and manage your domain name(s).

I got a domain name. What else do I need to set up a website?

In order to set up your website, contact your hosting provider and add your name servers or A records with the domain name.

How do I add the name servers or A Records to the domain name?

Here are the steps to add name servers or A Records to your domain name:

Log in to your control panel, search for the domain name and click Manage to proceed to the Domain Overview
Click the DNS tab
From here, change your Name Servers, or add A records if using our own Name Servers.

How can I setup a redirect?

You can redirect your website using the ‘Domain Forwarding’ service. Follow these steps to set up a redirect:

Log in to your control panel, search for the domain name and click Manage to proceed to the Domain Overview.
Click the Domain Forwarding tab.
Click the Add domain forwarding button and follow the steps on screen.

What do I do if I forget to renew my domain?

We do send out multiple renewal reminders to the Registrant email address before the domain expires. There are compulsory emails that are sent out 30 days and 7 days prior to expiry. There are also optional renewal reminders sent out before expiry.

However, if you do forget to renew the domain, we still provide an additional 36 days renewal grace period. During this period, you will have complete control over the domain, and you can renew the domain within this time span.

Can I transfer my domain name to another provider or registrar?

Yes, you can transfer your domain name to another provider or registrar. Transfer charges will apply. Before proceeding, you are advised to first check if your domain name can be transferred:

If the domain name is less than 60 days old: If the domain name you are trying to transfer was registered less than 60 days ago, the Registry will reject the request.
If the domain name has been transferred less than 60 days ago: A domain name cannot be transferred to another Registrar within 60 days of a previous transfer.
If Theft Protection/Lock/Suspension has been applied on your domain name: If Theft Protection/Lock/Suspension has been applied on your domain name at the current Registrar, then a transfer for that domain name to another Registrar will not be allowed. You will first have to disable Theft Protection/Lock/Suspension for the domain name and then proceed with a transfer.
If Privacy Protection has been enabled on your domain name: If you have enabled it for your domain name, then you need to disable it before trying to transfer.
A domain name has expired: If the domain name has expired and is in the Redemption Grace Period, it can not be transferred.

Lock-in when contact details are modified

When modifying contact details for the email address, name, or company of the Registrant contact, you will get an option to enable or disable the 60-day transfer lock. If the lock is enabled, it cannot be lifted until 60 days are over.

I have a .store domain from another registrar. Could I transfer it to www.get.store?

We currently do not support incoming transfers.

What is a premium domain name? What is a reserved domain name? Why are they priced higher?

Premium domain names are special domain names which are priced higher than normal domain names and the price varies based on a number of factors such as number of characters in the domain name, common keywords, recall value or the generated traffic.

A reserved domain is a domain that the registry reserves for various reasons, such as the abusive nature of the domain name or if it is essential for the registry itself, etc. These domains may or may not be obtainable by the customer.

If I’m starting an online store on a .store domain, do I get any additional benefits?
